The active substance of the drug increases secretion in the paranasal sinuses, acts as a decongestant , and helps in liquefying secretions.
The medicine affects the endings of the trigeminal nerve , which are located in the middle part of the nasal passage. It causes a reflex secretion. The effect of the drug begins immediately after administration into the nasal cavity. It lasts approximately 30-60 minutes. Mucopurulent discharge is liquefied and removed from the paranasal sinuses into the nasopharynx. Microcirculation in the mucous membranes of the nose and sinuses increases due to the reflex expansion of blood vessels that approach the glands that secrete mucus.
How to treat sinusitis with Sinuforte
Before using the drug, you must open both bottles, with juice and solvent. Then add the solvent to the lyophilisate, put on the sprayer and stir. Then do a control spray into the air. Now you can spray the medicine into your nose while holding your breath.

Mode of application

Interaction

A short-term feeling of a weak or moderate burning sensation in the nasopharynx, salivation, redness of the face, rarely possible - a short-term headache in the frontal area or the appearance of pale pink nasal discharge. Contraindications

Overdose

A herbal preparation for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the paranasal sinuses (SNS) and nasal cavity. The drug acts on the sensitive receptors of the trigeminal nerve in the area of the middle nasal meatus and causes reflex secretion in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and SNP. Stimulated hypersecretion is accompanied by a change in the rheological properties of the secretion and normalization of its viscosity. Reflex hypersecretion in combination with the anti-edematous effect of the drug leads to the evacuation of secretions from the sinuses into the nasopharynx and provides physiological drainage of all sinuses simultaneously.
The drug helps restore mucociliary transport in the nasal cavity and SNP by enhancing the presence of the liquid part of the secretion in the surface layer of mucus.
Sinuforte® increases blood microcirculation in the nasal mucosa and SNP. This is because parasympathetic stimulation, which activates secretion, also causes vasodilation of the vessels supplying the glands.
Increased reflex secretion in the form of serous-mucosal discharge is detected after a few minutes and can last from 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the individual characteristics of the body.
Pharmacokinetics
The effect of Sinuforte® is due to the combined effects of cyclamen components, the most studied of which are triterpene saponins. Kinetic studies are not possible because all the components together cannot be traced using markers or bioassays. For the same reason, it is impossible to detect drug metabolites.
Indications
— Complex therapy of acute and chronic sinusitis: sinusitis, sinusitis, ethmoiditis and sphenoiditis (in the case of purulent sinusitis, occurring with symptoms of generalization of infection and/or orbital complications, Sinuforte® should be used only in combination with antibiotics). In case of uncomplicated course of the disease, it is possible to use the drug as a monotherapy under the supervision of a physician;
— Complex therapy of rhinosinusitis accompanied by exudative otitis media;
— The period of early postoperative rehabilitation after endoscopic surgical interventions on the paranasal sinuses.
Contraindications
— Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
— Polypous rhinosinusitis;

Directions for use and doses
Intranasally.
Adults and children over 5 years old:
Unscrew the cap of the bottle with the drug and remove the stopper.
Open the solvent bottle by breaking off the top part.
Completely pour the contents of the solvent into the bottle with the drug.
Screw the dispenser spray onto the bottle and shake until the drug is completely dissolved.
Remove the protective cap from the dispenser sprayer.
Make 2-3 test sprays into the air.
With your head in a vertical position, insert the dispenser spray into each nasal passage, hold your breath and spray with one click.
- With each press, the dispenser sprays 0.13 ml (2-3 drops) of the drug, which is about 1.3 mg of the drug (single dose). - The drug prepared in the above manner is administered once a day by a single spray into each nasal passage. It is recommended to do 2-3 test sprays into the air first.

Side effects
There may be a feeling of mild or moderate burning in the nasal cavity, salivation and/or lacrimation in response to irritation of the sensitive receptors of the trigeminal nerve.
In some cases, redness of the face, a short-term headache in the frontal region, or pale pink discharge from the nose may appear as a result of capillary diapedesis. The above short-term physiological reactions confirm the reflex mechanism of action of the drug and do not require cessation of treatment.
Allergic reactions are possible (including skin rash, shortness of breath, etc.). In these cases, it is recommended to stop taking the drug and consult a specialist.
Drug interactions
It is necessary to refrain from prior administration, as well as simultaneous use of local anesthetics and/or local decongestants due to a possible violation of the mechanism of action of the drug Sinuforte®.
If necessary, a combination of Sinuforte® with antibacterial drugs is possible and acceptable.
Interactions with other drugs have not been studied to date.
Overdose
Currently, no cases of overdose of Sinuforte® have been reported. Exceeding a single dose does not lead to an increase in the therapeutic effect and can cause a strong burning sensation and pain in the nasopharynx.
If symptoms of overdose appear, it is necessary to carry out symptomatic therapy: rinse the nasal cavity, gargle with warm water and use antihistamines.
