Pharmaceutical action.

Combined herbal product for topical use; has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, irritant, astringent and local anesthetic effect, stimulates tissue regeneration. At the beginning of the course of treatment it causes irritation, hyperemia and swelling of the gum mucosa. Due to the hypertonicity of the solution, toxic decay products are removed from the gum tissue and gum pockets, then the number of collagen fibers increases, their compaction occurs, new epithelium is formed and the normal structure of the gums is restored, strengthening the bonding of the periodontium with the cement of the tooth root. When treating the hemorrhagic form of periodontal disease, first there is a reduction in swelling and bleeding of the gums, which become pale, and then pale pink in color and thicken; gingival papillae become thinner and gradually press against the neck of the tooth at the subenamel-cementum border. Gum pockets shrink or disappear. With the pyorrheic form, in the first days there is an increase in the amount of purulent exudate, followed by a decrease in its amount until complete disappearance. The gingival papillae are absorbed, the edges of the gums are leveled and pressed tightly against the teeth.

Indications.

Periodontal disease (including hemorrhagic with alveolar pockets, pyorrheic), postoperative period during surgical treatment of periodontal disease.

Locally,
treatment is carried out by a dentist and begins with the removal of supragingival tartar. At the same time, measures are taken to ventilate the gum pockets with a spray or a stream of warm water. Then instillation is carried out using loose cotton swabs, abundantly moistened with maraslavin, into the alveolar and bone pockets. The tampons are left in the pockets for 5–6 minutes, and during this time the tampons are placed on the other side of the teeth or in the pockets of adjacent teeth. This procedure is repeated 5-6 times in one session - sequentially in each pocket. The last tampons are left loosely in the pockets. The next day, remove the tampons left after the first visit, remove subgingival tartar and sequentially insert several tampons into each pocket. The course of treatment is 17–20 sessions over 3 months (the first 5–6 sessions are with an interval of 24 hours). After 5–6 months, regardless of the condition of the gums, 1–2 procedures are carried out to treat the same places on the alveoli in order to eliminate possible microbial pathogens of the process.

During the treatment period, it is recommended to eat foods rich in vitamins and additional intake of vitamins A and C. It is necessary to exclude spicy and irritating foods (garlic, onions, nuts) from the diet; You should not brush your teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste or use disinfectants to rinse your mouth. Rinse your mouth with cool water in the morning and evening. Prolonged exposure to the sun should be avoided. Does not dissolve cement, dentin and tooth enamel.

How to be treated correctly with Maraslavin

It is important to use “Maraslavin” only in accordance with the instructions, and also under the close supervision of a doctor, even though it is over-the-counter. The drug is used in medical practice in different ways.

Place a few tablespoons of the solution in your mouth and rinse your mouth thoroughly. You can rinse for as long as you have patience. Repeatability – up to 4-5 times a day.
