What is the medicine Cameton for? This is a combined drug that has local anesthetic , antiseptic , and anti-inflammatory effects . Therefore, the answer to the question “what is the aerosol for?” can be answered: it is intended for local symptomatic treatment of sore throat (for which chlorobutanol , which has a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic effect). Camphor is an irritant, moderate antiseptic effect, improves local blood flow.
Levomenthol produces a distracting effect, accompanied by a feeling of cold, which eliminates pain. Has a slight antiseptic effect.

Indications for use

- viral infection of the respiratory system;
- laryngitis, pharyngitis.

Instructions for use of Cameton (Method and dosage)
Before irrigation, the mouth should be rinsed with water. For diseases of the pharynx and larynx, balloons without a metering valve are used. If a sprayer is attached to the bottle, put it on and make 2-3 test presses until the solution begins to spray out. The nebulizer is inserted into the oral cavity and the medicine is injected. The drug is kept in the oral cavity for up to 5 minutes.
For maximum effect, it is best not to inhale or swallow the throat spray. Therefore, the drug can only be used for children over 6–8 years of age who can control their breathing and do not resist a foreign object in the mouth.
For adults, 2-4 sprays are applied to the right and left side of the pharynx per application, for children 6-12 years old - 1 spray, for older children - 2 sprays. Frequency of use 3-4 times a day, duration of treatment 7 days.
The instructions for Kameton contain warnings that after spraying you should not take liquid or food for an hour. Avoid contact with eyes. After use, the sprayer should be rinsed with water.
Please note that Kameton is available in two forms - spray and aerosol. These are different dosage forms and they differ in the principle of drug delivery (a propellant gas is always present in the aerosol) and particle sizes. An aerosol is a suspension with a particle size of 1-5 microns (such particles are inhaled and enter the lower respiratory sections), a spray has larger particles—10-50 microns, so there is no danger of inhalation. If you spray while inhaling, the Cameton aerosol will settle in a small amount in the oropharynx, but will mainly end up in the lower respiratory tract. In this case, there is a greater likelihood of systemic action than local action. You need to pay attention to this when purchasing the drug at the pharmacy and use it correctly.

Kameton in the nose
Is it possible to spray Kameton in the nose? With long-term use, decongestants ( vasoconstrictors that eliminate nasal congestion) can cause the opposite effect - increase runny nose and nasal congestion, and therefore they can be used for 3-5 days.
For longer-term use, preparations containing essential oils are recommended, for example, Evkazolin , Pinosol or Cameton. When you have a runny nose, it is more advisable to use Kameton spray. As we found out earlier, its particles cannot be inhaled, and they linger in the nasopharynx. In addition, it is available in bottles with a dosing valve, which prevents overdose of the drug.
When treating rhinitis, you need to clear your nose of mucus. Do not tilt your head back, hold the can vertically and insert the sprayer to a depth of 0.5 cm. Injection should be carried out during the “inhalation” phase. How to take Cameton correctly

You need to insert the nozzle into the nasal passage and make a couple of presses so that the contents of the bottle are sprayed inside. The procedure can be carried out 2-3 times a day. Before use, rinse your nose thoroughly.
You also need to spray the medicine into the larynx with 2-3 pumps, no more than 4 times a day. It is advisable to maintain the same time interval between uses. Spray the drug while inhaling, then exhale through the nose. The medicine must be kept in the oral cavity for 3-5 minutes. For best results, it is not recommended to swallow or inhale the spray.
After using the medicine, you should not eat or drink for 1 hour. That is why it is best to use Cameton after meals.
Do not allow the drug to get into your eyes. If this happens, you need to rinse them well under water.
