Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Antimicrobial drug for topical use. It has antiprotozoal, antifungal and antibacterial effects.
Nifuratel, a derivative of nitrofuran. Highly active against a number of bacteria, fungi and protozoa (including Trichomonas vaginalis).
Nystatin is an antifungal antibiotic of the polyene group. By binding to sterols in the cell membrane of fungi, it disrupts its permeability, which leads to cell death.
Highly active against Candida albicans. The combination of nifuratel and nystatin allows one to achieve a more pronounced antifungal effect and significantly expand the spectrum of antimicrobial action.
The high efficiency and low toxicity of the components of the drug determine a wide range of its clinical use in the treatment of vaginitis of mixed etiology, in particular, use for the prevention of mycoses caused by the specific treatment of trichomoniasis.
Macmiror Complex does not disturb the physiological flora, which allows you to avoid the development of dysbacteriosis and quickly restore vaginal normocenosis.
Pharmacokinetics
Conducted studies confirm that when used vaginally in animals (rabbits and dogs) with repeated administration of a daily dose, which is 30 times higher than the therapeutic dose, the substances included in the drug do not have a systemic effect.
Studies of the pharmacokinetics of the drug in humans also confirm that when used intravaginally, the drug is practically not absorbed from the surface of the vaginal mucosa and does not have a systemic effect.
The concentration of nifuratel in blood plasma is below the limit of quantitation. Maximum concentration (Cmax) 4.54 ng/ml; time to reach maximum concentration (Tmax) 8.0 hours; integral area under the pharmacokinetic concentration-time curve (AUC) 10.27 ng ml'1 h.
Nystatin is not absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes when applied topically.

Vulvovaginal infections caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug, including: bacterial vaginitis, vaginal trichomoniasis; vaginitis caused by fungi of the genus Candida, mixed vaginitis.
Contraindications for use
Hypersensitivity to nifuratel, nystatin or any excipient of the drug.
