Sab Simplex for newborns is a medicine that effectively destroys gas bubbles in the intestinal lumen. It also contributes to a decrease in their level of education. Composition of the drug

The drug is a carminative drug based on the active ingredient called simethicone. Available in the form of a viscous white emulsion. Aroma with notes of raspberry and vanilla. Along with simethicone, it contains a number of auxiliary components - flavorings, sorbic acid, sodium cyclamate and others.

"Sab Simplex" helps reduce the formation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract and removes them, thereby eliminating the symptoms of bloating and flatulence in adults and children. It acts only physically - it reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles, which leads to their destruction. As a result, gases are absorbed by the intestinal wall and leave the abdominal cavity.

The active ingredient is not absorbed by the body because it is chemically inert (does not react with other substances). Therefore, it is excreted in the feces in the same form as it was received.

The product is produced in plastic bottles with a volume of 30 ml or more. They can be stored at normal room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Access for children is excluded. The general shelf life is 3 years from the date of production - after this period the product cannot be used.

Indications for use

Sub Simplex is prescribed:

1. For symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by increased formation of intestinal gases. And also for flatulence, bloating, aerophagia.
2. To alleviate the condition of patients with increased gas formation in the postoperative period.
3. To prepare for various diagnostic studies of the gastrointestinal tract.
4. For acute poisoning with synthetic detergents and similar preparations based on surfactants.

Instructions for use "Sub Simplex"

The drug is taken before bedtime during meals or after that. First, the bottle is inverted and shaken several times until the suspension becomes homogeneous. Then it is turned over and tapped on the bottom.

The dosage depends on the patient's age. If there are signs of increased gas formation, it is necessary to give (one-time amount indicated):

• children from 1 year to 6 years – 15 drops;
• children from 7 to 15 years old – 21-30 drops;
• adults – from 31 to 45 drops.

The drug is taken 2-3 times a day with an interval of at least 5 hours until the symptoms of bloating completely disappear. If necessary, the indicated quantities may be slightly increased.

For newborns, the drug is given in the amount of 15 drops. Can be mixed into a bottle or given in a spoon. The aroma of vanilla and raspberries is pleasant, so taking the medicine does not cause discomfort.

The drug is also taken in preparation for various types of studies:

1. X-ray – take 16-30 ml the night before.
2. Ultrasound - 15 ml the day before the procedure, then in the evening and another 15 ml immediately before the start.
3. Endoscopy - take 3-5 ml on the eve of the procedure. Also, during endoscopy, another 3-5 ml is taken in consultation with the doctor.

To treat the effects of taking detergents, take 5 ml. However, the dosage may be increased if the symptoms are pronounced and do not go away.

Directions for use and doses

The drug is intended for oral use only. Having measured out the required amount of medicine through a dropper spout, it can be diluted in a small amount of water or milk. After diluting the product, it should be used immediately.

Before each use of the medicine, the bottle should be shaken well. It is necessary to measure the required number of drops by holding the bottle strictly vertically, tapping the bottom with your finger.

In general, the duration of treatment, dosage and regimen of the drug are determined by the attending physician, based on the clinical picture and characteristics of the patient’s body.

In case of intoxication of the body after ingestion of detergents , the effective dose of the medicine is selected individually depending on the severity of the condition and the physiological characteristics of the patient. The minimum recommended dose is 1 tsp. If relief does not occur, you should consult a doctor.

Infants up to 12 months (breast or bottle feeding):

1. One-time use in case of periodic increased gas formation - 15 drops. In this case, the drug is added to the feeding bottle and given during meals. Or they give the medicine to the baby from a spoon, carefully pouring it into the cavity between the cheek and lower jaw 15 minutes before meals.
2. If the child is constantly bothered by gas and flatulence, the medicine is given before (during) each feeding. When the child's condition improves, the drug can be stopped or the frequency of use reduced.

Children aged 1-6 years - with frequent complaints of increased gas formation, give 15 drops of Sab Simplex during or immediately after meals. To enhance the therapeutic effect, you can also give 15 drops of the medicine to the child before bedtime.

Children over 6 years of age and adolescents - in case of periodic problems with digestion and gas formation, the child is given 20-30 drops simultaneously with meals or immediately after meals. If complaints of pain and discomfort recur constantly, it is recommended to give the medicine every 4 hours, regardless of meals.

Adults, including pregnant women and nursing mothers , if they have excessive gas, should take 30-45 drops of the medicine with or after meals. If this treatment regimen does not stimulate a noticeable reduction in unpleasant symptoms, you can start taking the drug every 4 hours during the day.

The attending physician may, at his discretion, increase the dosage of the drug for patients over 6 years of age and change the treatment regimen. Sub Simplex is approved for long-term use. The course of therapy can be continued until symptoms disappear completely.

Preparation for examination of the abdominal and pelvic organs - depending on the type of examination, the manufacturer recommends the following dosage:

• Radiography. The evening before the procedure, the patient drinks from 3 to 6 tsp. drug.
• Ultrasound. The evening before the test, the patient takes 3 tsp, then 3 hours before the test another 3 tsp. medicines.
• Endoscopy. Immediately before the procedure, the patient drinks 0.5-1 tsp. medicines. If necessary, the doctor can directly administer an additional amount of the product through the endoscope during the examination.

Since in preparation for research the medicine is measured out in teaspoons, the dispenser attachment can be removed to facilitate this process.

Shake the bottle well before use. To dispense drops, hold the bottle upside down and gently tap the bottom of the bottle with your finger.

Dosage

The indicated dose should be taken every 4 to 6 hours. If necessary, the frequency of administration can be increased for adults and children aged 6 years and older.

The drug Sab® Simplex contains sodium benzoate as a preservative.

Mode of application

Newborns and infants (> 4 weeks to < 12 months):

Sub® Simplex can be added to a feeding bottle. Sub® Simplex mixes easily with other liquids, such as milk.

Sub® Simplex can be given with a small spoon before feeding, including before breastfeeding.

The use of Sab® Simplex in premature infants is not recommended.

Children (>12 months to <18 years) and adults:

Sub® Simplex is best taken during or after meals and, if necessary, before bed.

The duration of use depends on the dynamics of complaints. If symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult your doctor.

In preparation for diagnostic studies (radiography, ultrasound, etc.)

To prepare for x-rays, the day before the examination in the evening, take 3-6 teaspoons (15-30 ml) of Sub® Simplex.

When preparing for an ultrasound, it is recommended to take 3 teaspoons (15 ml) of Sub® Simplex in the evening the day before the examination and 3 teaspoons (15 ml) approximately 3 hours before the examination.

In preparation for esophagogastroduodenoscopy

Before endoscopy, you should take 1/2 - 1 teaspoon (2.5 - 5 ml) of Sab® Simplex. During the examination, an additional few milliliters of Sub® Simplex suspension can be injected through the endoscope to remove foam bubbles that cause irritation.

In case of acute poisoning with detergents containing tensides

The dose depends on the severity of intoxication. The recommended minimum dose of Sab® Simplex is 1 teaspoon (5 ml).

The use of the drug for the indications listed above (x-ray examination, ultrasound examination, esophagogastroduodenoscopy, detergent poisoning) is facilitated if the drip device is removed from the bottle.

Side effects

In the vast majority of cases, taking the drug does not cause any side effects.

In rare cases of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, symptoms of an allergic reaction may appear. Hives, redness, and itching may appear on the skin throughout the body. Swelling may occur, especially in the face and neck.

If after taking the drug the patient begins to show allergy symptoms, treatment should be stopped immediately and the doctor should be informed.

Contraindications and side effects

The product should not be used if there is individual hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any excipient. Also, administration is excluded in the presence of intestinal obstruction.

Use during pregnancy (any stage) and breastfeeding is permitted. It is also allowed for use by newborns and infants at any age. “Samplex itself” can also be used by patients suffering from diabetes (regardless of the type and stage of development of the disease), since the emulsion does not contain sugars.

In most cases, no side effects are observed. But sometimes a skin rash, itching, and redness may appear. In this case, the treatment is suspended and a doctor is consulted for a possible change in therapy. There have been no cases of overdose - the drug is safe and does not pose a threat to health.
