Lactovit Forte is a probiotic that contains 2 strains of the same type of bacteria of the human intestinal microflora - lactobacilli , characterized by the ability to produce lactic acid and suppress the growth of pathogenic microflora. The drug promotes the formation of antibodies and activates the phagocytic function of leukocytes.
In addition to lactobacilli, the drug contains folic acid and cyanocobolamin . The first is involved in the biosynthesis of amino acids and nucleic acids. Indispensable for erythro- and leukopoiesis, necessary to protect the fetus from teratogenic factors.
Cyanocobalamin activates metabolism (fat, protein and carbohydrate); has a beneficial effect on liver function.
When the capsules enter the stomach, they protect bacteria from gastric juice for 4 hours. They dissolve in the duodenum, and bacteria begin to multiply due to the presence of nutrients in the capsules.

Description of pharmacological action
Lactovit forte is a probiotic containing lactobacilli Lactobacillus sporogenes and Bacillus coagulans, as well as vitamins. Lactobacilli are antagonists to opportunistic microflora, which is caused by competition for receptors of intestinal epithelial cells. In addition, lactobacilli produce lactic acid, which has an inhibitory effect on the growth of pathogenic microflora. Lactobacilli have a positive effect on the immune system, promote the formation of antibodies, and also activate the phagocytic functions of leukocytes. Folic acid, which is part of the drug, takes part in the process of synthesis of amino acids and nucleic acids. Folic acid is also necessary for the formation of blood cells - leuko- and erythropoiesis. Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) activates metabolism (fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism), and also takes part in the production of nucleic acids.
Indications for use
Chronic and ulcerative colitis, dysbacteriosis. It is used in preparation before childbirth, if there is a violation of the purity of vaginal secretions up to 3-4 degrees. It is used for inflammatory diseases of the genitals (with nonspecific etiology), as well as in complex therapy in the case of atopic dermatitis, eczema, urticaria and diathesis in children.

Pharmacodynamics
Lactovit Forte is a probiotic. The drug contains lactobacilli (Lactobacillus sporogenes and Bacillus coagulans) and vitamins. Lactobacilli are representatives of obligate microflora inhabiting the human intestine. Their antagonism towards opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms is due to competition for receptors on intestinal epithelial cells, as well as the ability to secrete substances (mainly lactic acid) that inhibit the growth of representatives of pathogenic microflora. Lactobacilli have a positive effect on the human immune system, promoting the formation of antibodies and activating the phagocytic function of leukocytes. In addition to lactobacilli, Lactovit Forte contains two vitamins. Folic acid is involved in the biosynthesis of amino acids, nucleic acids, pyrimidines and purines. Necessary for erythro- and leukopoiesis, protection of the embryo and fetus from the influence of factors that have a teratogenic effect. Cyanocobalamin activates fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism, participates in the biosynthesis of nucleic acids, has a positive effect on the functioning of the liver and nervous system, and stimulates erythropoiesis.

Hypersensitivity to cyanocobalamin, lactose and folic acid.

Directions for use and doses
Regardless of age, Lactovit Forte is prescribed 40 minutes before eating twice a day. Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 50-100 ml of water at room temperature (the water should not be hot). Therapy with Lactovit lasts 3-4 weeks for dysbiosis, 6-8 weeks for ulcerative colitis, and 4-6 weeks during the recovery period after intestinal infections. In case of incomplete normalization of the composition of the intestinal microflora, it is possible to prescribe the drug in a maintenance dose (half the treatment dose) for a period of 1.5-2 months.
Interactions with other drugs
The bacteria that make up Laktovit are resistant to antibiotics. Folic acid exhibits antagonism towards sulfasalazine, phenytoin, PAS, oral contraceptives, pyrimidine.
Special instructions for use
It is not recommended to drink Laktovit with hot drinks. When treating children under two years of age, it is recommended to dissolve the contents of the capsule in milk.

Indications for use
- dysbiosis after intestinal infections and antimicrobial therapy in adults and children;
- chronic colitis ;
- prenatal preparation in case of violation of vaginal cleanliness in pregnant women;
- inflammatory diseases of the genital area, accompanied by impaired vaginal cleanliness;
- nonspecific ulcerative colitis ;
- complex treatment of diathesis in children, urticaria , atopic dermatitis and eczema .
Duration of use:
The course of treatment depends on the nature and course of the disease. If there are intestinal disorders, treatment is carried out for at least 4-6 weeks; for chronic colitis of various etiologies, treatment is carried out for up to 1.5-2 months; for dysbiosis resulting from the use of antibiotics, sulfa drugs and other reasons, treatment is carried out for 3-4 weeks.
To consolidate the obtained clinical effect, 10-14 days after the end of the course of treatment, in the absence of complete normalization of the microflora, maintenance doses of the drug are prescribed (half the daily dose) for 1-1.5 months.
For diseases that occur with relapses, repeated courses of treatment are advisable. In these cases, before prescribing the drug, a repeated study of the microflora is necessary.
Instructions for use Lactovit Forte (Method and dosage)
Lactovit forte is not tablets, but capsules, which are taken 40 minutes before meals twice a day. Daily dose for adults: 2-4 capsules.
For children under 2 years old, the daily dosage is 1 capsule, from 2 to 14 years old - 2 capsules. When treating children under 2 years of age, the contents of the capsule are dissolved in 10 ml of milk or the powder is used to prepare a suspension. Single dose – 5 ml of suspension.
For prenatal preparation, 2 capsules per day are prescribed orally for a week, followed by monitoring the purity of vaginal secretions.
The instructions for Lactovit Forte determine the approximate treatment time: 30 days for dysbacteriosis, 6-8 weeks for severe ulcerative colitis, and 4-6 weeks during the period of convalescence after an intestinal infection.
The final treatment period depends on the normalization of the intestinal microflora. If the microflora is not completely restored, half the daily dose is prescribed for 2 months. In case of recurrent course of the disease, treatment courses are repeated.

Interaction
Lactobacilli are resistant to antibiotics. The absorption of vitamin B9 (folic acid) is reduced when taken together with analgesics , anticonvulsants, neomycin, sulfonamides, antacids, chloramphenicol , polymyxin , and cytostatics.
Reduce the absorption of cyanocobalamin: aminoglycosides, salicylates, antiepileptic drugs and potassium preparations.
