Pharmacological properties
This complex of vitamins for visual health contains blueberry anthocyanins, thanks to which, as well as the vitamins and zinc included in the composition, the drug is able to improve the functional state of the visual analyzer. It increases visual acuity, activates metabolic processes, as well as microcirculation in tissues, and strengthens the walls of eye vessels.
Regular use of Blueberry Forte helps improve twilight vision adaptation, quickly reduces eye fatigue during prolonged visual stress, reduces the risk of intraocular hemorrhages, and normalizes intraocular pressure.
History of growing the Blueberry forte plant
In 1905, breeder and real gardener-adventurer Luther Burbank set out to create a new variety of hardy and edible nightshade from two completely unsuitable, but not poisonous species of nightshade - the European small one (which made it edible and imparted its taste) and the African one (which provided a new variety with large and decorative fruits that are well resistant to diseases and unfavorable conditions).
Creator of Sunberries and French fries - Luther Burbank
By the way, the author of everyone’s favorite French fries is Luther Burbank, who created a potato variety called Russet Burbank, which is widely used in the McDonald’s chain. But if Russet Burbank has gained worldwide recognition, there are far fewer fans of Sunberry than his opponents.
Many gardeners frankly do not understand the taste of ripe berries, calling them bland with an unpleasant bitterness. But some claim that the berry is very useful because it contains the same substances that are found in hormones secreted by the adrenal glands, prolonging our youth and making us invulnerable to many ailments.

Planting and care
This berry is called solar because it loves the sun very much. For planting seedlings, it is best to choose a well-lit area. You can choose a shaded place, but there will be fewer fruits on such a plant. They will also become small in size and tart in taste. Since the bushes grow large, young seedlings are planted with a distance of at least 70 cm between them.
Some gardeners plant Canadian blueberry seedlings between tomatoes, potatoes or peppers. This method will not give a good harvest. Shrubs will grow poorly and develop slowly. The timing of planting in open ground is the same as for tomatoes and peppers. The plant does not like excess moisture, but the soil should not be allowed to dry out either. Water for irrigation should be no lower than 23°C and should preferably be done in the morning or evening hours.
This plant does not need additional feeding. It is enough for the normal development of fertile soil. However, to obtain a bountiful harvest, fertilizer should be applied at least twice. Mullein diluted in water is suitable for this. It is watered at the root of the bush.
Caring for the plant is very simple; it is weeded approximately once every 2 weeks. It is better to loosen the soil in the nightshade bed immediately after watering or rain. The bushes of the plant are spread out, so they do not need to be tied up. If we take into account that the harvest will be plentiful, then we need to make supports. When there are a lot of berries, the branches sink to the ground, which should not be allowed.
Sunberry is an unpretentious and useful plant
Sunberry is native to Canada, so it’s not for nothing that the berry is also called Canadian blueberry. The shrub grows in many climate zones, including ours. For dachas and vegetable gardens it is considered exotic, but is becoming increasingly widespread.
In many areas you can find elderberry that grows on its own, requiring absolutely no care. Its fruits are very tart and almost impossible to eat fresh. But this black nightshade is useful and is widely used in folk medicine. Sunberry is a hybrid of elderberry and the larger American nightshade.
Blueberries forte grow on powerful bushes that can reach up to 1.5 m in height. They bloom in early summer. White flowers are collected in large clusters, and the flowering bush becomes an excellent garden decoration. Flowering continues until late autumn.
Large black berries the size of cherries grow in dense clusters. Sunberry produces an excellent harvest; you can easily harvest a whole bucket of blueberries from one bush.
The blueberry bush is not afraid of heat and drought; it also tolerates cold weather and frost with ease. But due to the climate, the plant is cultivated as an annual, and in hotter countries it grows as a perennial.
It is planted with seeds and through seedlings. The berry fully ripens only in late autumn.

Growing Sunberry in open ground
With the arrival of warm weather (early May), Sunberry seedlings can be planted in the ground. In May, return frosts rarely occur in central Russia. Even if this happens, young plants will not be harmed, since Sunberry is not only drought-resistant, but also not at all afraid of spring frosts.
Sunberry planting pattern: 80 centimeters between bushes and 1.5 meters between rows. Such a large distance is a necessity due to the massive growth of the plant. If you reduce it, the bushes will shade each other, and the berries will not receive enough light, which will delay the ripening time.
Planting seedlings in the ground is done by transshipment. First, dig a hole 15–20 centimeters deep in the ground and water it well. Then they take a glass with seedlings, pinch the stem with their index and middle fingers, turn the contents of the glass over onto the palm of their hand, place the extracted plant in the hole and fill it up.

Sunberry is a hardy nightshade, so it does not require additional watering or pest control. The bushes are not affected by bacterial diseases or pests, and it can grow in the most infertile soil. During active growth, powerful stepsons are formed on the bush, which need to be supported in the form of long wooden slingshots, especially during the period of fruit growth. Experts say that the berries can be eaten no earlier than the end of September, when they become soft. Otherwise, there is a risk of berry poisoning.
Sunberry bushes bloom continuously, so from September the flowers must be pruned, otherwise even if they bear fruit, the berries will not have time to ripen well in the constant sub-zero temperatures. This measure helps the plants direct all their forces into the ripening of already formed berries.
In regions where early autumn frosts are possible, the berries are picked with a brush and laid out on the windowsill for ripening. In a warm room, they, like tomatoes, will fully ripen and be suitable for use. With the arrival of severe frosts, the bush completely dies, turning into organic fertilizer for the earth.

How to grow a hybrid
If desired, this hybrid plant can easily be grown in your garden plot. There are no special instructions for this. It is planted using two available methods:
- seeds;
- seedlings.
If you immediately sow blueberry seeds in open ground, you may not get a positive result. It is best to use the seedling method for planting. First you need to prepare planting material. It has a dense shell, so it is immediately pierced with a needle. Then they take coarse river sand, washed and calcined in advance, and place it in a jar, where the seed material is also placed. After this, the container must be shaken well so that the seed is completely freed from the coating.
After this, the seeds should be washed well with a light solution of potassium permanganate for several minutes. For sowing seedlings, they do not differ in time from tomatoes, so the end of February or the beginning of March is the right time for sowing. To do this, you need to prepare a container with a layer of drainage and soil without peat. This component, unlike other berries, for example, yellow-fruited raspberries, currants, and blueberries, is poorly tolerated.
To obtain quick germination, seeds are watered with warm water. The container is placed in a well-lit place and the temperature is maintained at 18°C. When the first shoots appear, the temperature can be increased and additional lighting can be created. After the growth of two or three leaves on the seedlings, you can pick them. When the threat of night frosts has passed, you can plant sunberry seedlings in open ground.
